YTL Cement Supports Local Schools with Back-to-School Initiatives
As part of our commitment to education and community development, YTL Cement organised two Back-to-School programmes in February 2025, benefiting students in Langkawi and Kanthan.
Back to School Programme in Langkawi

On 19 February, YTL Cement collaborated with Sekolah Kebangsaan Ewa, Langkawi for a Back-to-School initiative, providing RM50 vouchers to 30 students in need. The event was attended by Dato' Halimah Hassan, Director of Green Enable Technologies, alongside Mr. S. Jayasimhan, the Langkawi Plant Senior General Manager. Beyond the donations, they participated in the Permainan Tradisional Wow Madani event, launching the initiative with teachers and students by flying the wau, a traditional Malay kite.

Back to School Programme in Kanthan

On 24 February, YTL Cement extended its support to Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Ladang Dovenby, in Sungai Siput, Perak providing essential school supplies and workbooks to 150 students from Standard 1 to 6.
Mr. Sekar Kaliannan, the Kanthan Plant Senior General Manager, led a team of ten employees to personally distribute the donations, ensuring students had the supplies they needed for the new academic year.
These initiatives align with YTL Cement’s commitment to empowering local communities through education, reinforcing our Community and Potential pillars.
